Winter is absolutely, bar none my least favorite time of the year. Late winter brings with it the birth of kids (goats, not hoomans) but prior to that, I find reasons to spend as much time as possible indoors in front of a roaring fire. This year, my time is spent researching and learning about fiber, and practicing my spinning.
“At some point, it will just click for you. You’ll ‘get it,’ and you’ll be spinning!” said every spinning instructor, ever. And by jiggies, they were right! I give you, as evidence, my third attempt spinning on my wheel…a full bobbin of llama, sheared way-back-when by Jerry and myself and processed by Ohio Valley Natural Fibers. The professionally done roving has been sitting in a bag for several years now, patiently waiting for me to become a fiber artisan. Or a close approximation thereof.
